About

Drawing of a woman reading.

Hello! Thank you so much for visiting my book blog!

My name is Sara and I’m a youth librarian in the lovely state of Missouri! When I’m not reading, I’m probably crafting – knitting, cross-stitch, sewing, you name it! Or I’m playing board games with my friends.

I have four lovely cats, I drink loads of tea, and I love the summer.

About My Reviews

When I read books and rate them, I base my scale on an average between four categories:

  • Content
  • Literary Merit
  • Entertainment Factor
  • Cover

The rating for each category is out of 5 and then I total the average of each category to get my overall rating for the book.

I like to review books this way because it keeps me from down-rating books that are not generally my cup of tea (due to subject matter, if I dislike the author, etc.). Sometimes I read books that are recommended to me or part of a book club or challenge that I normally would not have picked up on my own. In fairness to these books, I assess them with these categories to keep it fair.

About Me

Though I’ve always wanted to be a librarian, I never new I’d end up working as a youth librarian. I have since come to love it and some of my favorite books are middle grade books.

Though reading takes up much of my spare time, I also love going to the movies to see the next super hero flick, historical dramas, or animated features.

I am a proud nerd and a member of many fandoms, including the Star Wars and Marvel universes, as well as Harry Potter (and I’m a proud Ravenclaw!).

My favorite reading genres are fantasy, historical fiction, and sci-fi, but I’m an eclectic reader who will pick up anything that sounds interesting to me (which is why this blog is peppered with non-fiction, some romance, contemporary, and comedy).

Please feel free to comment on my reviews, recommend books to me, or return to my blog to see what my latest review is.
