Just a weekly update on my current reads and a few thoughts I currently have about them. I’m interested in tracking my feelings over the course of reading a book, because sometimes they change wildly and rapidly. Check in on Wednesday if you’re curious to see what I’m up to.
P.S. This will never be a comprehensive list of everything I’m actually reading because…well, I dabble. This is just a list of books that I am currently committed to and am actively reading daily.
The Night Watchman | Louise Erdrich: I’m reading this for a book club, and I am really enjoying it so far! It’s loosely inspired by the author’s grandfather’s life and centered around a US government attempt to dissolve Indian reservations. I look forward to the rest of it.
Radicalized | Cory Doctorow: I picked this up after reading an article written by Doctorow and he mentioned a short story of his called “Unauthorized Bread.” When I looked it up, I discovered it in this short story collection of his. I’ve never read anything by him, but it seems intriguing.
Unbought and Unbossed | Shirley Chisholm: I’m reading this for one of my Reading Women prompts. I’ve always been fascinated by Chisholm. She was the first woman to run for president. I don’t tend to read anything political, but I do find her a really interesting person and I’m enjoying her book immensely.
