I Should Have Read That Book Tag | Tag Thursdays

Happy Friday! I wanted to jump into another Tag today, rather than my usual Review post. I’ve been sitting on this tag awhile, ever since I saw it on A Fangirl’s Opinion. I have a super long TBR and thus many books that I could say I should have read. I had a lot of fun writing up this post and I hope you enjoy it, too!

A Book That a Certain Friend is Always Telling You to Read

Educated by Tara Westover

I’ve heard from a few friends now that I should read this book. I definitely would love to! It’s one of those books where everyone raves about it and I have it on my radar but I just haven’t gotten around to reading yet. I do plan to, hopefully in the near future!

A Book That’s Been on Your TBR Forever and Yet You Still Haven’t Read It

This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel

I put this on my TBR waaaaay back in 2012 (according to Goodreads). I’ve read other Oppel books (which I love!), and this book is about Frankenstein, which is a classic that I also love. I couldn’t tell you why I haven’t read it, yet, but I still very much want to!

A Book in a Series You’ve Started, But Haven’t
Gotten Around to Finishing

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

I read this book a year or so ago and really enjoyed it. I really wanted to read the next one, but I just didn’t have time and so this year, I really am making it a priority to finish this series. I have to know what happens next! I hope it’s as awesome as the first one.

A Classic You’ve Always Liked the Sound of, But Have Never Actually Read

Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy

I have read Hardy’s Tess of the D’Urbervilles and really enjoyed it, but I have not yet read this one. I know it was recently made into a movie and I toyed with the idea of watching it anyway, despite not having read the book yet, but I held off. I do like to read the original source material before watching an adaptation. I hope to read this book this year. We’ll see!

A Popular Book That it Seems Everyone But You Has Read

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I have seen this book everywhere in the book blogging sphere. I’ve heard rave reviews, as well. I also see it crop up every once in a while on book lists. It does feel like everyone has read it but me, but I’m not surprised. I feel like I’m slow to read popular fiction, especially since a lot of it is not in the genres that I tend to read. I might read this book, but it’s not currently on my TBR.

A Book That Inspired a Film/TV Adaptation That You Really Love, But Just Haven’t Picked Up Yet

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

I have seen this movie many times. It’s one of my favorite (weepy) romance movies. I had a huge crush on Shane West, particularly in this movie. It always makes me cry. Forget The Notebook, this Sparks story is the one I go to. I haven’t read the book. I haven’t read a single Sparks book yet, and I don’t really plan to. But man, I sure do love this movie.

A Book You See All Over Instagram But Haven’t Picked Up Yet

Untamed by Glennon Doyle

I see this book everywhere, perhaps because it was part of Reese Witherspoon’s book club, but also because it got really good reviews. I still don’t know anything about it, but a coworker of mine read it. She loves Glennon Doyle. I had never heard of Doyle before, but she sounds like a really interesting person. I might read this book in the future, who knows? I like the cover for sure!

Thoughts & Thanks

This was such an interesting Tag to do! I often don’t think too hard about what’s on my TBR, just knowing that there’s so much on there! But I really enjoyed think about what I’d put for each of these prompts. What did you think of my selections? Let me know if there are any books on this post that I absolutely have to get to right now! Or maybe there are ones that don’t live up to they hype? Let’s chat in the comments.

Though I like participating in tags, I’m bad at tagging people. My favorite thing is just to say, if you’ve read this post and like it, please consider yourself tagged! And feel free to share your Tag post in the comments so I can see what you picked.

As always, thank you for visiting and happy reading!
