Hello again! It’s Tuesday, and of course that means it’s time for a Top 5 post. Top 5 Tuesdays and their topics are brought to you by Shanah @ the Bionic Bookworm. Check out her blog, she’s awesome, and this page for the list of topics for May!
I was so excited to see this prompt because I love reading romances! Whether they be young adult or adult, contemporary or historical fiction, I just find them so much fun to read. I hope you all enjoy my choices!
Of course I had to put this book on here! I love this book so much and it is soooo cute! I love that Hoang includes a neurodiverse character and Stella is just so interesting! I love seeing her and Michael fall in love because from the get-go you can tell they’d be perfect for each other, if only they can each get over their own hang-ups! It’s just so well written and the characters fell real and alive. I definitely recommend this one!
I actually read this last year for a book challenge prompt and really ended up liking it. It’s historical fiction romance taking place in the Tang dynasty in China, following two characters – Ryam, who is a westerner in this foreign land, standing out for being blonde/blue-eyed, and Ai Li who is a Princess looking to be free. Their romance is fiery and passionate, but I think they’re also just really cute. Watching them fall in love and fight for each other made this book so fun to read!
I read this book by pure chance after seeing it mentioned on a blog last year and when I read it, I squeed so hard! This story is too cute for words! I love quirky Hazel and straight-laced Josh and watching them become the best of friends before realizing they’re perfect for each other. This book just made me sigh in contentment at the end. I love, love, love it and I actively look for Christina Lauren books now. She’s like my adult Sarah Dessen.
This is a really cute YA romance. It’s different than most that I’ve read. For one, it’s a “new adult.” And for two, the characters are just really awkward, quirky people who you’re rooting for the whole time and they just keep circling each other! Also, it unfolds a lot over text, which is an interesting dynamic and fits this book squarely in the modern age of romance. I think many teens will relate to this.
I just read this book, and while it wasn’t my favorite book (I give it 3 stars), the romance was so cute! It’s the best thing about this book. I loved seeing Mary get wooed by Alex without realizing that was what was happening. Their flirting was adorable. This is a YA romance, so is very tame and very sweet, but it’s definitely cute and I would recommend it.
Thoughts & Thanks!
