Hello again! It’s Tuesday, and of course that means it’s time for a Top 5 post. Top 5 Tuesdays and their topics are brought to you by Shanah @ the Bionic Bookworm. Check out her blog, she’s awesome, and this page for the list of topics for April!
I’m sure I could make a much longer list than five of popular books I haven’t read yet. But I’ll do my best to stick to just five. There are so many books that I need to read and I’m hoping I’ll get around to reading these five this year.
This is actually an interesting case, since I started reading this book already, but my hold was up and I had to return it to the library. But I barely scratched the service, so I’m counting it as something I haven’t read yet. I know that her first book, The Night Circus, was quite popular when it came out. I think this book was getting a lot of buzz when it came out because it’s her newest book since her first publication. I love the premise, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. I’m still really looking forward to reading it!
I actually bought this book as a gift for one of my friends for Christmas. I then managed to snag a copy for myself through work and I have yet to read it, but it sounds so good! After reading Six of Crows, I’ve discovered that I really enjoy reading heist stories – as long as they’re well written! I’ve heard really good things about this book, and I’m hoping to enjoy it soon!
I actually have this filling one of my reading challenge prompts for this year, so I do plan to read it soon! I’ve heard so many good things about this book, I just really want to read it. Also, it’s about a young woman who cooks! I do enjoy food in books. One of my favorite cozy mystery series is about a caterer. There’s just something about the cooking world that really interests me. Anyway, I have read Acevedo’s other acclaimed novel, The Poet X, just this year, and it was alright. I’m hoping to love this one still.
I was lucky enough to snag a copy of this book from my library before we closed, so I have it in my possession! So maybe sometime during quarantine I can read it? I’m hoping to love it as much as other people seem to! It’s got two different narratives, so that will be interesting. And of course it’s sci-fi, which I usually enjoy as a genre. It’s really short, which I find interesting for a book about time travel, but we’ll see!
This is a bit different that the rest of the books I have on this list. It is also a book I’ve chosen to fulfill a prompt for one of my reading challenges. I saw it a lot during Goodreads’ Reader’s Choice Awards. It’s a nonfiction book about mental health, which is something I have an interest in. I have seen many good reviews for this particular book, so I’m hoping it is as great as people are saying!
Thoughts & Thanks!
