I Should Read That Book Tag | Tag Thursday

This will honestly be the easiest book tag I do this year, probably. As those who read my blog frequently know, I have a massive, massive TBR and more than enough books to choose from to fit the prompts in this tag. So, I decided this would be the perfect tag for me to do on a busy week, since it won’t require too much scavenger hunting on my part.

So, anyway, lets go!

| The Rules |

  • Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their post (Well, this is awkward…I tagged myself. It happens. But! I did come across this tag on Purely Olivia‘s blog, so go check hers out!)
  • Link to the creator’s blog in your post
  • Answer the questions below
  • Tag 10 others to take part in the tag (I’ll do that at the end)
  • Enjoy the tag!

1. A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

Where the Crawdads Sing – Delia Owens

I have a co-worker/friend who read this book a while ago and she always brings it up and says I and others should read it. It’s probably in her Top 5 of books. The author came to town and she went to the event, got her book signed, it was really amazing and I’m happy for her! I just haven’t gotten around to reading this one yet.

2. A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t read it

This Dark Endeavor – Kenneth Oppel

I love Kenneth Oppel so much! I love Frankenstein so much! Why haven’t I read this book yet? What is taking me so long?!

3. A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten around to finishing

Trouble Never Sleeps – Stephanie Tromly

I feel particularly bad about not having read this one yet. I totally want to! I love this series! I even started reading it as soon as I bought it when it first came out! But life happened and now I still haven’t finished it! Someone send help!

4. A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but have never actually read

Persuasion – Jane Austen

Look, I’m as surprised as you that I, an Austen fan, still haven’t read this one yet! But I’m going to. The even more shocking thing is, I haven’t even seen a movie adaptation of this one yet! Crazy, crazy, crazy. But I’m going to read it. I own a copy, I’m going to read it!

5. A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Vicious – V.E. Schwab

This book actually just came up on my “Down the TBR Hole” series and of course I kept it because…I mean come on, everyone has read this book and loved it! I see it come up all the time. I’m really jealous of everyone who has read it, because they’ve clearly read an awesome book that I haven’t. I need to get on board!

6. A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but just haven’t picked up yet

The Return of the King – J.R.R. Tolkien

Yes, yes I haven’t read it. I did read The Lord of the Rings and half of The Two Towers before I gave up. I didn’t even pick this one up. I just…Tolkien’s writing can be a bit much for me. I mean to read it some time in my life. I love, love, love the movies. They’re fantastic! I’m sure this book is, too.

7. A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

Little Fires Everywhere – Celeste Ng

I see this book everywhere, not just on Instagram. I do want to read it, no doubt! It sounds amazing! I just need to get hands on a copy first…and time to read it!

Thoughts & Tags

If you enjoyed this post, consider yourself tagged! Try to ping back to me, because if there’s anything I love about this site, it’s getting to look at peoples’ book selections – especially in this case where it’s a bit of a game and I love getting a peek at what people have on their shelves. See you next time and happy reading!
