I’ve decided for these Top 5 Saturdays, I will be looking exclusively at books I want to read, but haven’t yet. It’ll keep things interesting. I’ll only include books I’ve read if I absolutely can’t help myself! 🤣
Anyway, let’s get to it!
Books I want to read…
I have been meaning to read this book for so long! I sounds like such an interesting take on dragons – dragons who can mask themselves as people. It’s also very music-heavy, which intrigues me. If I like this book, there’s a whole series, too, so more to love. I also have prematurely bought Tess of the Road, which exists in the same world as this one and even mentions characters from this series, so I feel like I need to read this first.
I’m kinda cheating with this one, simply because I started reading it…and got side-tracked. I made a promise to myself to finish all the books before I watched the television series, and for the most part, I did that. But for some reason, with this one, I just couldn’t finish it at the time. I do mean to at some point, if only to see how vastly different the book is, and in anticipation of the day (if ever?) the rest of the series is published.
I absolutely love this series. I have been re-reading them this year. But, for some reason, I’m sure I never actually read this fourth and final book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know I go on and on about Dealing with Dragons. For some reason, I just didn’t get to this one. But I’m excited to read it and to finally complete the series. These books are truly awesome!
So, I’m kind of cheating with this one, because…I have read it. A long time ago, but I’ve read it. I didn’t continue the series because…well it didn’t interest me at the time. But I find myself thinking about it every once in a while and I wonder if I’d like it any better now, as an adult. I own the book, so it’s not like it would be hard to get my hands on it. Maybe someday soon…
First of all, I have to read this book because, as the author has described it, “It’s a sentimental Victorian novel about dragons who eat each other.” Um, yes please! I love a good Victorian novel, but I find the concept of it being about dragons even more intriguing. And then throw into the mix that they eat each other! Like, that’s a main factor in the book…Well, my body is ready. Sign me up!
