Seven Deadly Sins Book Tag

Book Tag Thursday

I’ve been saving up to do another book tag post – and I have just the one! A while back, I came across this tag on Wonderfilled Reads‘ blog. I urge you to also go check their post out!

One of the most interesting manga’s I’ve ever read is Fullmetal Alchemist, in which the villains of the story are based of of the seven deadly sins. It was quite interesting to see how these characters were created around each sin. I highly recommend checking this manga out. It’s not a super long series, either!

And now, I get to suggest books based on the seven deadly sins! Check ’em out below!

WRATH | What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Leigh Bardugo

I don’t know why it has to be this way, but I can’t say I completely hate Bardugo’s books, because Six of Crows blew me away and, if not for one bloody character death in Crooked Kingdom, I would have loved that book, too. But I ultimately ended up hating the Grisha trilogy. I hated Alina, I hated Mal, and the whole series really tanked in the last book.

What I love about Bardugo is her writing can be so, so good. She is a pretty great world-builder and I love the Grisha-verse. However, she can make some choices in her books that really, really turn me off, like having such an unlikable MC and pushing the love-triangle at times, or wanting to pair every character off…so yeah, I made a vow after Crooked Kingdom destroyed me that I wouldn’t pick up another book by her unless it came with extreme recommendation from trusted friends only.

GLUTTONY | What Book Have you devoured over and over again with no shame?

The Harry Potter series is a close second, here. I know, I know, I’m using Ella again! But it’s the ultimate for me, and I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve read this blessed book. I recommend it all the time, I’m not ashamed.

SLOTH | What book have you neglected to read due to laziness?

I wouldn’t necessarily say laziness because most of the time, when I don’t read a book, it’s because there are so many books I want to read, I have anxiety about which ones to read. Having reading challenges helps, but there are definitely some books that I have less excuse for, like books that I own.

I own this book – well, technically my mom owns it, but I have near-constant access to it with no threat of an overdue fine or lending pressures. I just haven’t gotten around to it. But I mean to this year!

PRIDE | What book do you talk about most in order to sound like an intellectual reader?

I got nothing…

First of all, I definitely am not the kind of person who does this. If I’m talking about books, it’s because I love them and I’m excited about them and want to talk with someone else about them. I live for the fandom experience, or introducing new books to new people.

LUST | What attributes do you find attractive in male or female characters?

Loyalty, Kindness, Humor…

Hmm…this is an interesting question, because I haven’t really thought about it before. I guess I really love loyal, kind characters, or characters who have a bit of humor, a bit of vulnerability, but aren’t ashamed by that or learn to love themselves.

Man! It’s tricky, because I like all kinds of characters, but I think Hermione’s a good example of a character I love.

ENVY | What book would you most like to receive as a gift?

Illustrated Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I’m a pretty simply person when it comes to gifting. I buy most books for myself, however. But if anyone were to ask me what book I want most right now to be given as a give, I’d say the illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, because I am counting down the days till it comes out.

I absolutely love Jim Kay’s illustrations, and I think they’re a perfect gift for any HP fan. I’m blown away by each new addition and I can’t wait to get a look at this one!

GREED | What are your most expensive/inexpensive books?

Illustrated Harry Potter series

Speaking of! These are probably some of the most expensive books I’ve ever bought. I have no shame that I splurge on these, even though I already own multiple copies of each book. It’s a weakness of mine.

As for the most inexpensive…I have bout books from Half Priced Books and Goodwill before, so pretty cheap, like $4.

Thoughts & Thanks

And there you have it! My seven deadly sins in book form. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading this post. You are lovely and I appreciate it!

If you enjoyed this post, give it a whirl! Try to ping back to me, because if there’s anything I love about this site, it’s getting to look at peoples’ book selections! See you next time and happy reading!

    1. Thank you! It sucks when the book world is awesome and cool, but the story itself and the characters suck đŸ˜” But I did enjoy the Six of Crows duology quite a bit. I just wish Bardugo hadn’t killed my favorite character (and for no reason).

This tag was so fun to fill out! I highly recommend it! Thanks for checking it out! If you do it, link back so I can check yours out!

    1. Omg, I knooow! It’s rough. I’m a sucker when it comes to HP merch and if they come out with new editions, I usually end up buying them. I’m a Ravenclaw, too, and I want those specialty editions as well!!! J.K. Rowling basically owns all my money.
